Green fingers
I've not really got green fingers, cheese plants are about my only horticultural success, but I fancied growing my own veg, so a couple of months ago I ordered a mini vegetable garden from Rocket gardens, who grow the seedlings organically in Cornwall and post them to you.
This week my garden arrived! My neighbours must've thought I was bonkers, it took me until midnight to plant out most of them into pots and grown bags. But now I've got my own supply of salad leaves, herbs, beetroot and spinach to last me the summer. All provided I don't manage to kill them off before they get going!

Vintage

I'm just off for a bit of a browse at the London Vintage Fashion Fair in Hammersmith. With two weddings later this year I'm on the hunt for a fabulous vintage dress to wear.
I've been cutting out clippings with vintage wedding inspiration for my friend Carrie who I'm being a bridesmaid for. There are so many lovely ideas, Vintage Tableware have got a great thing going hiring out vintage crockery and I was introduced to this lovely website selling handmade wedding invites www.slatersparke.com.
I wonder if there'll be any need for accessorizing with vintage cushions....

Another gem unearthed...

I was inspired by Jamie Theakston's house in Livingetc magazine to have a look through some of the toot I've hoarded over the years. He has a great display of Tretchikoff prints and 1960's/1970's kitsch spanish ladies. I knew I'd kept a lot of my old birthday cards and the 6th and 7th year ones have got a certain kitschy charm. All I need is a few old frames from a junk shop to complete my display. (Click here to see Jamie's house at Livingetc.com)

Classic motors

I've been in rummage mode this weekend. I popped to the car boot sale this weekend for the first time in ages, it was heaving, so I had a quick scoot round and picked up a couple of bits of fabric for the collection. Then I was having a look through some of my old magazine layouts and found this gem from 1998.
Check out the retro styling, they just don't make cars like it any more! I was lucky enough to get to drive the blue Dodge Challenger in the foreground and fell in love with the V8 muscle car then and there. They're not exactly environmentally friendly but a girl's got to have a dream...
